Puppy Sport Foundation Skills

Class runs continuously, running Tuesdays starting April 11, 2023 at 6:00pm

This class will focus on teach the handler and puppy foundation skills that will serve you well no matter what dog sport you end up doing. We will introduce you to games, skills, drills and more that build the handler/dog teammate relationship, focus, impulse control, brain games, intro to obedience, recalls, handling, obstacle familiarization and much more. You and your puppy will do activities with the whole class and also have the opportunity to have one on one floor time too. We also crate train our puppies, essential for any sport dog and is an essential life skill too. This class is meant to be repeated with fresh classes, that build upon each other week to week, over several sessions. You register for each 6 week session as usual.

PREREQUISITES: 8 weeks to 1 year old. Must bring a crate and be willing to crate train.

Beginner Agility Fun Runs

6 weeks, running Fridays starting May 5, 2023 at 8:00pm.

Come and learn how to run an agility course. We will set up courses each week, and show you how to run an agility course by stringing together 3 obstacles at a time, leading up to running an entire course.  Dogs must be able to work off leash and have the ability to string together at least 3 obstacles.

PREREQUISITES: Must have Agility Level 2 (or equivalent), some ‘run’ experience AND the ability to string together a full course of obstacles.

Agility Foundation 1 Working Group (FULL)

Class runs continuously

Students have graduated from introductory classes in both obedience and agility to join this working group and are referred by our instructors. We use concept based training and focus on building foundation skills for both the dog and handler. The focus is on drills, grids, handling, sequencing, and goal building. This working group is meant for those wishing to compete.

Advanced Agility Fun Runs

6 weeks, running Fridays starting May 5, 2023 at 6:15pm.

Come join us for some agility fun! This class is designed for those who have some experience in running agility courses already. We’ll set up different courses for you to try out each week to help you achieve your agility goals. Dogs must be able to work off leash and run an agility course.

PREREQUISITES: Must have Agility Level 2 (or equivalent), some ‘run’ experience AND the ability to string together a full course of obstacles.

Agility – Level 2

6 weeks, running Saturdays starting May 6, 2023 at 12:30pm.

The Level 2 class is a continuation from our Level 1 class. The rest of equipment (spread, double and long jumps) will be introduced. Handlers will learn various crosses and dogs will continue to sequence obstacles together. For maximum benefit in this class dogs should be able to work off leash and stay focused on the task at hand and their owner. A strong stay is also important.

PREREQUISITES: “Agility – Level 1” | Recommendation of the instructor to move on (Students who have taken Agility – Level 1 will have priority)

Agility Foundation 2 Working Group (FULL)

Class runs continuously.

These students have progressed through several levels of both obedience and agility classes to join this working group and are referred by our instructors. We use concept based training and focus on building foundation skills for both the dog and handler. The focus is on drills, grids, course map reading, handling, sequencing, full course work and goal building. This working group is meant for those are ready compete or have been competing for some time now.

Agility – Level 1

6 weeks, running Saturdays starting May 6, 2023 at 11:00am.

In Level 1 agility students will be introduced to the majority of the equipment seen on an agility course; such as contacts, jumps, tunnel, tire and table. By the end of the class dogs will have a strong start on their contacts and should be able to sequence together 2-3 obstacles. Although the class is done on leash, dogs should have a good understanding of basic obedience such as sit, down, stay and should have a strong recall.

PREREQUISITES: “Level 1 Obedience” | Recommendation from instructor
