Puppy Agility Class Foundation Skills

3 weeks (2 per week), running Mondays and Wednesdays starting August 2, 2021 at 1:30pm or 6:00pm

Class Dates: August 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, and 18.

For ALL Puppies under 1 yr old,. Join us at our outdoor field approximately 15 min from city limits. We will work on important foundation skills needed in the sport of agility or any confident puppy! This will be a fun, games based class, giving you the tools to build a great relationship with your puppy, build a confident puppy and introduce them to the sport of agility.

All activities and exercises done in class will be age appropriate. Safety first!

Agility Games

6 weeks, running Sarurdays starting September 11, 2021 at 2:00pm.

Come and have some fun with your agility dog! Learn some new games each week
and have fun while refining your dog’s agility skills. Some of the games that you
will learn and play are Gamblers, Snooker, Points & Distance and Jumpers.

PREREQUISITES: Level 2 Agility and the ability to run a full course off leash

Beginner Agility Fun Runs

6 weeks, running Fridays starting September 10, 2021 at 7:45pm.

Come and learn how to run an agility course. We will set up courses each week, and show you how to run an agility course by stringing together 3 obstacles at a time, leading up to running an entire course.  Dogs must be able to work off leash and have the ability to string together at least 3 obstacles.

PREREQUISITES: Must have Agility Level 2 (or equivalent), some ‘run’ experience AND the ability to string together a full course of obstacles.

Puppy Primer

6 weeks, running Thursdays starting September 9, 2021 at 6:30pm.

Come have fun with your puppy! You and your puppy will have fun learning focus games, a good recall, and some every day life skills. Learn how to train new skills, in short, game-based, and reward-based training sessions. Puppies will also learn how to interact with some training equipment, such as a small tunnel, a contact trainer, and wobble boards to promote confidence for both family pets and future dogsport athletes. This class is a great all types of puppies as it will help build a solid foundation for a well-round pet.

PREREQUISITES: Must be 16 weeks or younger.

Introduction to Rally-O

6 weeks, running Wednesdays starting September 8, 2021 at 6:30pm.

Come learn what Rally-O is all about!  Learn the signs, practice what you know, and have fun with Rally-O Games!

Dogs and handlers are introduced to the exercises and how to use those exercises to execute the signs for the sport of Rally-O. Rules of the game are taught.

 

PREREQUISITES: “Level 1.5 Foundation Training” or recommendation from instructor

Weave Pole Madness

8 classes (2 per week), running Wednesdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 3:00pm starting September 8, 2021.

Come teach your dog how to weave! Or if they have already started learning how to weave, come practice with us!

The training floor will be divided/fenced into 3 sections, 15’ apart for social distancing  with 3 dogs on the floor at the same time. This class is limited to 6 dogs and their handlers.  

PREREQUISITES: Dogs must be able to work off leash.

Advanced Agility Fun Runs

6 weeks, running Fridays starting September 10, 2021 at 6:15pm.

Come join us for some agility fun! This class is designed for those who have some experience in running agility courses already. We’ll set up different courses for you to try out each week to help you achieve your agility goals. Dogs must be able to work off leash and run an agility course.

PREREQUISITES: Must have Agility Level 2 (or equivalent), some ‘run’ experience AND the ability to string together a full course of obstacles.

Agility – Level 2

6 weeks, running Saturdays starting September 11, 2021 at 12:30pm.

The Level 2 class is a continuation from our Level 1 class. The rest of equipment (spread, double and long jumps) will be introduced. Handlers will learn various crosses and dogs will continue to sequence obstacles together. For maximum benefit in this class dogs should be able to work off leash and stay focused on the task at hand and their owner. A strong stay is also important.

PREREQUISITES: “Agility – Level 1” | Recommendation of the instructor to move on (Students who have taken Agility – Level 1 will have priority)

Agility – Level 1

6 weeks, running Saturdays starting Sept 11 2021 at 10:30am.

In Level 1 agility students will be introduced to the majority of the equipment seen on an agility course; such as contacts, jumps, tunnel, tire and table. By the end of the class dogs will have a strong start on their contacts and should be able to sequence together 2-3 obstacles. Although the class is done on leash, dogs should have a good understand of basic obedience such as sit, down, stay and should have a strong recall.

Canine Fun 101

6 weeks, running Thursdays starting September 9, 2021 at 8:00 pm.

This class is an introduction to all that we do with our own dogs. The class is divided into working stations with foundation obedience being one of the stations every week. Other stations include how to play, learning to jump, rear end awareness, tunnels, barrels, targeting and some introductory skills used for flyball and disc. Most dogs and handlers benefit from having Foundation Level 1 first, but some can go into this class with prior training elsewhere or with an experienced handler.

PREREQUISITES: Recommended “Level 1 Obedience”
