Charlie was the first dog that I really did anything with. I trained him in Obedience from the moment I got him at 3 months old. We competed in the Obedience ring and if it wasn’t for his barking, he would have had some high scores. I started training him for Flyball when he was about 9 months old. We started training in a barn, which wasn’t fun – he was not going to pick up a dirty ball. He quickly figured it out that if you catch it out of the box, it doesn’t get dirty. He enjoyed playing flyball for many years and was a solid height dog that helped many older dogs continue to play. Charlie is retired now after a nice long flyball career. Charlie is top dog in the house amongst the dogs and he will make sure that any new dog coming into the house knows it. |
