Obedience - "Puppy Kindergarten"

This is where it all begins.  Puppies between the ages of 8 to 16 weeks when the class begins are introduced to a variety of games, sights and sounds, as well as basic commands of sit, down, wait, take it and leave it and walk nicely on a loose leash.  Most importantly they are socialized with other puppies in a supervised environment.  From Puppy Kindergarten, your puppy may go on to Level 1 Foundation Training and/or Canine Fun 101.

Obedience - "Canine Fun 101"

This class is an introduction to all that we do with our own dogs.  The class is divided into working stations with foundation obedience being one of the stations every week.  Other stations include how to play, learning to jump, rear end awareness, tunnels, barrels, targeting and some introductory skills used for flyball and disc.  Most dogs and handlers benefit from having Foundation Level 1 first, but some can go into this class with prior training elsewhere or with an experienced handler.

Obedience - "Level 1 Foundation Training"

Open to all ages, all breeds.  Building a strong foundation with your dog is like building a house.  Without a strong foundation, the house would soon crumble, so foundation training is important for the family pet, as well as the dog that will go into other dog sports such as flyball, agility, Rally-O and conformation.  Basics are sit, down, stay, come when called and learning the heel position.  This class is a pre-requisite for every other class that KAOS offers.  This is the class that will start to create a bond between dog and handler that is more than just a collar and leash.

Obedience - "Level 2 Continue to Train"

This class raises the bar in what is expected from you as a handler and what you as the handler expect from your dog.  Class includes better recalls, long stays, intro to exercises that will lead to competitive obedience, Rally-O, and an all around better behaved pet in your home.

Obedience - "Beginner Rally-O"

Dogs and handlers are introduced to the exercises and how to use those exercises to execute the signs for the sport of Rally-O.   Rules of the game are taught and most can enter a Rally-O trial at the Novice level at the completion of the class.

Offered to those students who have completed Beginner Rally-O.  Most students have competed at the Novice level and are ready to go on, but competition is not a must if the student just wants to learn the advanced signs and exercises.  All Advanced exercises are taught off leash.

Agility - "Canine Fun 201"

This class is an intermediate continuation of the Canine Fun 101 class. Activites include tunnel relays, barrel relays, 3-point barrels and other fun handling exercises. This class is primarily run off leash.

Conformation - "Puppy Show Dogs"

This is not a drop in class. Your registration in this class guarantees your weekly participation in a limited registration class that lasts one half-hour. The focus of this class will be split between 2 areas, 1) what a puppy needs to learn and 2) what a handler needs to learn, including:

Conformation - "Conformation Bootcamp"

This is not a drop in class. Your registration in this class guarantees your weekly participation in a limited registration class that lasts 45 minutes. The focus of this class will be helping you to show your dog in the most complimentary manner. Instruction will include activities that will:

Flyball - "Flyball Class 100"

This 7-week class introduces new handlers to the basics of flyball. The first class is an informational one for people only. Some prior foundation training is required to ensure the student has a measure of control with his/her dog. An evaluation of the handler/dog team will be done prior to acceptance into flyball training.

Flyball - "Flyball 200"

This is a class that will continue the training from the beginner class and expand the dog's skills.

Flyball - "Flyball 300"

This is a league style class that integrates students and other advanced dogs into the KAOS team practice, enabling them to experience what it would be like to train with an actual flyball team. This is an advanced class and entry will only be allowed upon completing the prerequisite classes and having met and received approval from the instructors.
